Madhumati Manda, an artist and musician born in India, uses strong primary hues to portray the vigorous aspects of life. She describes her vision as an attempt to captivate viewers through the expressive power of vivid colours and a diverse array of textures. With a Bachelor of Fine Art from Visva Bharati University in India, (one of the country’s most prestigious art institutions) Manda honed her recognisable style and mastery of colour. Manda has held multiple solo exhibitions, including ‘Intrinsic Light’ at the Birla Academy of Art in Kolkata. Manda is now based in Scotland and bridges her Indian heritage and deep connection to Scottish landscape. Since relocating to Scotland, Manda has developed and refined her distinctive style, combining expressive brushwork with a refined sensitivity to light. Her paintings urge the viewer to immerse themselves within her art and to discover different layers of meaning.
