Our Foundation Course is the perfect progression for children who are developing their drawing and painting skills. We recommend the Foundation Course for children who are Junior age at primary school. There are three terms in a year and each course runs for ten weeks. Each course continuously develops skills and techniques, and covers a different subject, for example ‘The History of the World in 9 Paintings’, ‘Across the Americas; Pole to Pole’ ’ and ‘Explorers and Inventors’. Throughout the ten week course children will tackle more difficult subjects than the Little Artist Club.

Our aim is to develop their drawing skills through a series of fun but challenging drawing and painting exercises. Every week the children will use different drawing and painting materials. Our policy at The Little Art School is to use artists’ materials, rather than an infant equivalent. Children quickly adapt to using watercolour washes correctly when they are taught using correct techniques. They are always delighted with their finished result as well as taking a pride in using the ‘proper’ artist’s materials!
