Our Syllabus, Your Child
The Little Art School 12 year syllabus is unique. Over many years we have designed a highly structured course. Our course delivers one continuous, highly structured progression of learning.
The Little Art School Drawing and Painting Course will take your child from learning to draw basic shapes and use various art media (eg watercolour and pastel) at age 5, right through to graduating with us after Level 6, when our students are completing complex portraits in oils.
The aim of the syllabus is to set a high quality of experience for every student in the way they learn, with a structured warm-up, set Learning Objectives in each lesson and two key outcomes:

We nurture the development of a lifelong skill; the ability to draw and paint confidently
We build self-esteem – every child should leave knowing that they have developed their skills and with increased confidence, nurtured in an encouraging environment

Our Studios
We currently have two studios in Ayrshire: Ayr and Kilmarnock. Both studios have classes after school most days and weekends. All of our studios are fully equipped with all the materials we have tried and tested over the years to compliment our course. The course is designed to give our students confidence in experimenting with lots of different mediums. We strive to make our studios a nurturing, welcoming space - every student has their own work space and set of materials needed for the class.
